Who we are
McAlpine Hussmann can trace its roots back to 1935 when James S McAlpine Limited first began trading.
Over the ensuing years the McAlpine brand has been at the forefront of refrigeration in New Zealand.
During the 1990s, its association with the world’s leading display case manufacturer, Hussmann Inc.,
and its merger with leading Australian refrigeration company Triangle Refrigeration, established
Australasia’s leading Commercial refrigeration company.
Triangle Refrigeration, in its own right, had become one of Australia’s leading commercial
refrigeration companies after its creation in 1966, quickly developing a solid customer base, and exporting
into Asia and the Pacific Rim only a decade after its inception.
McAlpine Hussmann is part of the Climate Control sector of Ingersoll Rand, a leading diversified industrial
company listed on the New York Stock Exchange. We are able to leverage the considerable worldwide resources
of the Ingersoll Rand enterprise and deliver innovative, reliable and market-leading products and services
to the Australasian marketplace.
Over the years our business has diversified considerably, and whilst we are still very much in the
refrigeration business, we are active in all aspects of commercial refrigeration and air conditioning.
